Today is a momentous day for Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay. We have finally received certification from her majesty’s government to receive daytime international flights at Ambergris Cay Airport. This means we can now accept direct flights up to and including Category 6 aircrafts, including the GV and Global Express.


The good news comes after an intensive, three-day inspection by Captain Ian Ramsay of Air Safety Support International, who is responsible for aviation regulatory issues in the British Overseas Territories, as well as Peter Forbes and James Ingham of Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Aviation Authority. Currently, Ambergris Cay Airport can accept sunrise to sunset operations with nighttime operations being planned for the future.


This is a very exciting development for both present and future members. As the world’s premier private island community with the longest private Jet Strip in the Caribbean, we also offer full Turks and Caicos Customs and Immigration service right here at Ambergris Cay Airport. This level of convenience, privacy and personalized service is simply unheard of anywhere else in the region.


Now, Sporting Club members can go Directly from New York to Ambergris Cay in three hours and seven minutes or from Atlanta to Ambergris Cay in two hours and forty-five minutes. No matter where you’re coming from, the ability to land direct international flights will make Ambergris Cay a convenient and exciting retreat.
