A Picture Worth a Thousand Words



Most of you are familiar with our idyllic photo of a Le Grand Cottage with a picture perfect blue sky, crystal swimming pool contrasted against a sea of green grass overlooking the Windward shores of Ambergris Cay; don’t let this photo confuse you.

This image was captured on Friday, September 13, 2008; just 5 days after Hurricane Ike directly hit Ambergris Cay. There is no retouching, no brightening, no editing, just the pure colors of Turks & Caicos Sporting Club.

For those who know every inch of Le Grand Cottages, you will notice the shutters have been removed to protect from the storms, those were put back on this afternoon and there is a missing pergola which is being rebuilt.

What used to be an image of serenity, peace and calm, may now add strength, protection, and survivor to its resume.

Pretty quick recovery I’d say, who’s up for a swim?
