Hailed as ‘ The Furniture Hunter ‘ in the New York Times, Andrianna, is a favorite among architects, interior designers, stylists and celebrities. Andrianna visited Ambergris Cay this past week for a bit of business and pleasure. She will be one of the interior designers that will be bringing her unique style and vision to the new “Affordable Housing for the Affluent” concept in Salt Rakers Cove. Andrianna scouts the globe for materials and sources natural forms of aged teak and turns these pieces into her one of a kind ‘organic collection’. Her organic collection fused with her modern line, works with incredible harmony together and results in a unique work of art.
When Andrianna was not working, she took some time out to engage in a few activities on the Cay and enjoyed snorkeling, beach combing and an amazing trip over to Fish Cay.
We look forward to seeing Adrianna’s incredible work on Ambergris Cay.

Christopher Crofton-Atkins was a guest at Ambergris Cay last December where he sketched several scenes for a series of paintings planned for the island.
Christopher brought two existing oil paintings of fishing scenes when he came in December. These were “Bonefish Ahead” and “There They Are!”, and are now hanging in the Welcome Center at Ambergris Cay. After he gathered local material for more artwork, Christopher returned to the Cay this January with three new paintings, which are also hanging in the Welcome Center. These are “The Beach at Tarpon Point”, “Ocean Rise from Columbus Point” and “Chachi’s Boat”.
The next two paintings that Christopher will be working on will be of more local scenes. One will be of the flamingo colony out at Tarpon Point and the other will be of bonefish activity at little Ambergris Cay.
More samples of Christophers’s work can be seen below and also at his website www.saltwaterart.com.

The Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay was highlighted in this featured blog posted on nytimes.com by Jill Fergus, travel section, January 25, 2010:
Despite a still tricky, if rebounding, real-estate market, several luxury hotel brands are throwing caution to the tradewinds with splashy new Caribbean resorts. After a long delay, the Viceroy Anguilla finally made its debut last month, joining the sleepy little island’s outsize collection of high-end hotels. (The Moorish-inspired Cap Juluca still reigns supreme, while the much-touted developments of Temenos and Rendezvous Bay have stalled.) At this latest Viceroy, situated on Mead and Barnes Bays, Kelly Wearstler has created ultradecadent penthouses suites, cabana-lined infinity pools and multiple lounges, among them the Half Shell, carved out of the side of a cliff.
In the Turks and Caicos, where construction seems to continue unabated on Grace Bay Beach (for better or worse), the new Veranda Resort, managed by the company that owns the chic Grace Bay Club, begins accepting guests Feb. 1. It might siphon off some of the jet set who’ve been holing up at the nearby Gansevoort Hotel, but probably just a little — the chainlet’s third outpost after New York and Miami has been going strong since last spring.

Last Friday, January 29th, the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay hosted a social “mixer” function for over 40 concierge personnel from various resorts. In attendances were representatives from over 13 well known resorts on the island.
The event started off with a warm welcome to the attending guest, followed by a fifteen minutes presentation highlighting the recent updates, development and happenings on Ambergris Cay. The purpose of the event was to continue the existing relationships that the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club has with the various resorts and to establish new relationships with other resorts. Educating concierge about the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club and the Provo Tourist Program was the main focus of the evening. Additionally, The Sporting Club wanted to thank concierges for their continued support and efforts for encouraging their guest to visit Ambergris Cay. Throughout the evening, the concierges also had the opportunity to meet and socialize with their counterparts from the different resorts. The event turned out extremely positive with concierges expressing heavy interest in the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club whilst enjoying refreshments and great company.
Once again, the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club would like to thank all of the resort for their participation in this event.

People say I have a good memory. This is not totally true, Ambergris Cay just gives you days you will never forget and this was another one of those. This father and son team was so fun to watch in action! We did not cover much ground that day on the flats due to the fact that the fish had us pinned down. We did not have to move far before father and son had multiple double hook ups. I forget which one landed the most fish that day, but I think it was the son. I cannot remember who had the most fun that day either, but it might have been me. We ended the day hooking a massive lemon shark on light tackle that kept us busy for a good twenty minutes. The two got to take turns trying to turn the fish, a great way to end an unforgettable trip.
